Fitness Update

Monday’s session at Kachmann was pretty intense. Erin had me using 8 and 10 pound weights in various exercises. I wish I had photos or videos of the exercises because it’s very difficult to verbally describe what they consist of. Take my word for it, though, that they were pretty difficult. Especially in the third set.

I was sore on Tuesday, and was even more sore today. I feel the “discomfort” (as Erin calls it) in the calves and quads of my legs and in pretty much every muscle of my arms. I feel as if I’m now really putting the muscles to work. I’ll do the same routine twice at home this week and see what next Monday brings.

I spent 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer this evening. I spent considerable time walking during the lunch hour today. When I pack a lunch these days, it includes stuff for mid morning and mid afternoon snacks. I take almonds, walnuts, orange, apple, banana, peanut butter, broccoli, zucchini, squash, unsalted tortilla chips, tuna, and occasionally a piece of cheese. I don’t eat all that stuff every day, but try to rotate the items enough to make it interesting.

Having snacks between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner takes away the famished feeling I used to have by the time lunch and dinner time came. That feeling usually made me overeat.

Don’t forget to wash your hands and keep your fingers out of your nose.
